Dental Implants in Hampstead, London

Dental implants are the ideal solution for replacing one or more of your missing teeth.

Each small titanium implant is an artificial tooth root, which becomes fully integrated into your jawbone. Acting as a part of you, dental implants make a stable foundation for single-tooth crowns, bridges or support and replace all of the teeth in one jaw.

  • Aesthetics
Aesthetically we can make dental implants look like your natural teeth. They can even sit in the gum in the same way as a natural tooth.
  • No damage to remaining teeth
Unlike bridges or dentures, dental implants do not require support from other teeth.
  • Prevent bone loss
Having dental implants in the bone will stop the bone from shrinking. Therefore the implants maintain your facial support and structure.
  • Fixed
Dental implants are fixed in the mouth and so you never need to remove them once fitted.

Stages of Treatment

The procedure for placing dental implants is a minor surgical one, which most patients have under a local anaesthetic. However the overall process involves several stages.

Stage One

  • We will arrange a consultation for you, where our Specialist will carry out a thorough assessment to confirm that this is the best treatment for you. Your specialist will then give you a written treatment plan outlining the sequence of your treatment and cost.

Stage Two

  • We will take impressions, radiographs and clinical photographs of your teeth. Your specialist will also make preliminary study models and carefully plan your case.
  • The basic requirements for successful dental implant treatment are a good general state of health, good oral hygiene and adequate bone quality and volume. In some complex cases you may require additional procedures such as bone grafting or a sinus lift.

Stage Three

  • Implant Placement: We make a pilot hole to a predetermined depth and then slowly and gently insert the implant into the site. This may then be buried and left to integrate or may be used immediately to support a temporary crown.

Stage Four

  • Integration Period: In some simple cases your dental implants can be loaded to function immediately. However, we may suggest that a period of 3 months or more is left to allow the implant to fully integrate before loading. During this healing phase, you can wear a previous denture or simple adhesive bridge.

Stage Five

  • The Restorative Phase: Once integrated, the dental implants may need to be uncovered and can be used to support the required restoration. We work very closely with extremely skilled dental technicians who produce the highest quality, beautiful restorations, whether it is a single implant crown or a full arch bridge or denture.
