Do you want whiter teeth?

You’re not alone. In recent years, teeth whitening procedures have become a commonplace procedure as more and more people visit their dentist to obtain home whitening kits or whiten their teeth trough ’chair-side’ procedures.

At Heath Street Dental, we offer Zoom Whitening and Enlighten Whitening. With Enlighten, we can provide both home whitening and chair-side whitening, allowing you to have an effective combination treatment tailored to your liking. Zoom whitening is done from the comfort of home, with the dentist supervising you through the process, allowing you to whiten your teeth in a timeframe that suits you. Our team of Dentists can advise you on the most likely shade you can achieve after whitening and address any concerns or questions you may have.

Teeth whitening aims to achieve a uniform, brighter shade for all the teeth. During your appointment, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth to create a mouthguard that fits closely to your bite, ensuring that whitening is effective as possible. The next step is deciding between the Enlighten (chairside) whitening or the Zoom (home kit) whitening. Here is a bit more information about the two options.

Some people may opt for ‘chair-side’ whitening also known as Enlighten whitening. Chair-side whitening, as the name suggests involves having the whitening process carried out in surgery. This is also combined with 2 weeks home whitening alongside. The advantage of chair-side whitening is that the dentist has more control; they can use a stronger whitening gel compared to the home kits and ensure more of the tooth surface is reached.  We also provide you with desensitising tooth serum, desensitising snap swabs and a whitening enhancing toothpaste with every kit. With Enlighten whitening your teeth can whiten up to 16 shades and we also guarantee at least a B1 shade.

Home teeth whitening kits are a safe and convenient way to get your smile noticeably whiter in one to two weeks. You’ll get professional, affordable results with little to no sensitivity. With Zoom whitening, you apply our take-home whitening kits yourself, meaning you can get whiter teeth when and where you want.

Before the whitening process, we need to ensure your teeth are suitable for the treatment. Therefore, you should have an examination with your dentist prior to whitening. Whitening is carried out with a gel containing carbamide peroxide, which breaks down hydrogen peroxide. Teeth whitening is a form of Dental treatment and as such the procedure should only be carried out by qualified professionals who can ensure both safety and efficacy

Since the procedure is painless, no injections are required. However, there may be temporary sensitivity or discomfort afterwards, but this will disappear within days.
